Nervous System Support

through Somatic Coaching

From anxious overfunctioning to embodied ease—my personal journey and what I now offer others.

Hi, I’m Alicia Divers

I’m a certified somatic coach and nervous system coach, and the creator of The Body-Based Anxiety Method™.

Before I ever taught nervous system work,
I had to learn how to feel again.

I moved through life calmly on the outside—steady,
composed, and capable. The kind of presence others found
grounding. But on the inside, I was holding my breath. My body was in a constant state of management—clenched fists I didn’t notice, a chest that never fully exhaled, a system quietly bracing for impact.

What looked like calm was actually containment.
What looked like steadiness was really survival.

For a long time, I wasn’t connected to joy.
I wasn’t attuned to the small, beautiful moments.
I wasn’t fully here.

Somatic work became my path home to myself.

It’s how I began to thaw—to soften, feel, and reconnect with my body in ways I didn’t know I’d lost. And slowly, I started to rediscover the things I thought were gone: curiosity, presence, and a sense of play.

Because when you’ve been frozen for a long time, play isn’t just a luxury.
It’s a sign your body finally feels safe and enough to be here.

That’s the kind of safety I now help others build.

What I Bring To This Work

What I Bring To This Work

Somatic coaching is still a newer, integrative field. Unlike therapy, it’s not license-based—but it is deeply grounded in nervous system science, trauma-informed care, and embodied practice. My training reflects that. As a trauma-informed nervous system coach, I work at the intersection of body-based healing and long-term emotional resilience.

I’ve completed over 200 hours of professional training in somatic modalities, with specialized focus on anxiety, attachment, and nervous system regulation.

Core Somatic Training:

  • Certified Somatic Coach (Embody Lab)

  • 60-hour Somatic Anxiety Certificate (Embody Lab)

  • Currently completing the 3-year Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner Training—a trauma-informed program often considered the equivalent of a master’s in somatic trauma work

I’m not a licensed therapist—and this work isn’t therapy. But for many clients, it’s the missing piece. This kind of somatic coaching doesn’t just help you understand anxiety—it helps your nervous system experience something different.

Additional Training & Interests:

I’m certified in Somatic Attachment Therapy and trained in Inner Relationship Focusing. I’m also a certified Enneagram Practitioner through The Narrative Enneagram and hold Master’s degrees in Spiritual Direction and Intercultural Studies.

My goal isn’t to fix people—but to support their return to aliveness, safety, and self-trust.

When the Body Meets the Spirit
While my work is grounded in somatic practices, many clients come to me seeking support for their spiritual life as well. I specialize in integrating spirituality into somatic work when that’s something a client desires—especially for those navigating faith transitions, religious trauma, or a longing to reconnect or connect with the sacred in embodied ways.

My faith tradition is Christian, and I hold a Master’s in Spiritual Direction. But as a spiritual director, I love holding space for people of all faith traditions—or none at all. It’s also important to note: I don’t practice energy work. While I honor those traditions, my approach to spiritual work is rooted in presence, curiosity, and embodied listening—not energetic healing.

Why Sun and Wave Somatics?

Sun and wave logo representing Alicia Divers' somatic coaching practice

Because healing doesn’t always look like hard work.
Sometimes it feels like sunshine on your face, or the rhythm of waves reminding your body how to soften.

I named this practice after the two things that help me feel most alive: sun and water.
Give me a beach, a skyline, and a little salt in the air, and something in me settles. Opens. Breathes.
It’s more than aesthetics—it’s regulation. It’s joy. It’s a reminder that steadiness and movement can live together.

To me, somatic work is the steadiness of the sun and the movement of the wave.

The gentle return to something solid and alive inside you.
